I don’t know many writers who don’t dream of typing out their thoughts on an typewriter. These romantic ideas are not always practical and I experienced this first hand. Now, I’m ready to sell my pretty but rusty typwriter that weighs as much as a bag of bricks. Thanks to Qwerkywriter, I can have the typewriter experience upgraded for the 21st century. It is shiny, lightweight and can connect to up to three devices via Bluetooth. The only downside? It comes at a hefty price.

The Qwerkywriter started out in a garage as a passion project. The Qwerky Team were feeling frustrated with all of the boring electronic products so they decided to create their own. The price point reflects more than just the parts but also the research and development that was needed to grow this startup and their unique product.

My Experience So Far
I love my keyboard. Sure, the price was a tough negotiation with my husband, but it was worth the battle. True, I didn’t NEED a new keyboard. I have perfectly good erganomic one and this is far from being good for my wrists and joints. But it is just as comfortable to type on as a regular keyboard. Since switching from an office-style admin job to freelance-writing full time, I needed to be a little more flexible.
This keybaord is easy to move and bring to whichever spot offers the most writing inspiration. I love that it pairs with my phone and tablet so that I no longer need to lug my laptop around. If I was richer I’d also buy the fancy case made for it, but honestly, this thing is sturdy and has done just fine in my bag. Speaking of inspiration… this keyboard alone makes me want to type away which has been great for my writing needs. Maybe I’ll finally finish that novel now? We’ll see!
