Isaac and I discovered Ollie’s Pub coincidentally, while driving to the Conimicut Village post office in Warwick, Rhode Island. It looked like a great small local spot and there was a bully-looking dog in the logo. Since we moved a few months ago, we’ve been looking for a new go-to bar in the area and this seemed perfect. Due to COVID-19, we only popped in for a quick, socially distant beer right when they opened at 1PM. There were only two other parties that were sitting really far away, so it felt safe. We are dying to return when it’s safe again!
Our experience at Ollie’s Pub was brief but awesome. The lady manning (womanning?) the bar happened to be the owner, and she was amazing. She was super attentive, brought us popcorn, and even gave us treats for our dog. Clearly a dog lover, she swooned over our dog and told us about Ollie. Ollie is a boxer, and the inspiration for the pub! Unfortunately, he wasn’t there when we visited, otherwise I’d have adorable photos.
About Ollie’s Pub
Ollie’s Pub has a great local pub feel to it that can be hard to find. It is small in size but has a great vibe. We would love to come back for a football game or for a cheat meal if we’re hungry. Their menu isn’t great if, like us, you’re trying to be healthy and avoid animal products. Diet aside, they have a great selection, amazing prices and overly generous portions. They are currently open and seem to be following COVID regulations to keep everyone safe. Ollie’s Pub is a great pub in Conimicut, Warwick and you should check it out if you are in the area. It’s not a fancy place to write home about, but it is a warm and friendly sports pub. If they don’t have too many people in, they may even let you bring your dog in. However, you should call ahead and ask. Special thanks to Ollie the boxer for inspiring his owner to open the bar! Also, they have karaoke nights when the world isn’t mid-pandemic.
