FabFitFun Spring Box Customization & Add-Ons

Today I got my much-awaited FabFitFun Spring Box Customization email! Just yesterdays the Add Ons opened and despite setting an alarm, I got too engulfed in my work and didn’t get to explore the options until three hours later. Some of the things I wanted were already gone! Today, there is even less. Which is why I made sure to do my customization as soon as it was open. I started only 30 minutes after it opened and there were already a few options sold out.

FabFitFun is incredibly popular and if you want specific things, you really need to be on top of your game. Also, as this is my second time exploring add-ons, I have to point out that while some products are repeats, most are new. There were a few I considered buying again but they aren’t available this time around. It’s pretty amazing that FabFitFun has such a great variety to explore every quarter.

FabFitFun: How Does it Work?

Before I dive into customization and add-ons, I should quickly recap the concept behind this box. FabFitFun is a lifestyle subscription box that provides you with fun items every season – Winter, Fall, Spring and Summer. FabFitFun is a subscription service that is billed each season ($49.99 USD) or annually ($179.99 USD for 4 boxes), depending on the option chosen. It’s automatically charged using the payment method provided.

FabFitFun isn’t secretive about their timelines. You can always log into your account to quickly see when to expect what:

Welcome to Your Spring Box

As always, there are steps to FabFitFun customization. First, there are several stages where you can pick out your free item. There is also the option to let FabFitFun choose and if you like more than one, you can add a second or even third and fourth for a discounted price.

It is also possible to subscribe to products that will refill every season. This can be canceled if you aren’t satisfied. I actually just canceled one and will guide you though it. Finally, there are some additional items that you can add to boost your box – I found something that I’ve been searching for for months! Finally, there’s the add-ons.

You do not need to add or buy anything extra if you don’t want to! However, you may want to consider it because the discounted prices are real and unbeatable. I was a skeptic myself, so I’ll go through every item to prove it to you.

FabFitFun Spring Box Customization

Let’s begin! I’ll take you through every single step. As you can see, customization opened on February 5th and it closes on February 8th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. When they say ‘while supplies last’ they aren’t kidding! I was less than an hour late to the game and I missed out on two items.

Customize Step 1 of 5

The first step usually has the most choices to pick from. It can be overwhelming, although this time I knew immediately what I wanted! I won’t keep you guessing, I went for the Short Stories LED Indoor Planter.

Let’s explore all of these options! You can always click Learn More directly on FabFitFun and see the original price and the info. I like to search the items on Google to confirm the prices and I like to check the ratings on Amazon.

Retail Prices

The retail prices on these items are as follows (any Amazon links are affiliate):

• CALPAK Set of 3 Packing Cubes in Sorbet – $40 oh no! This is my first time seeing a product with the wrong price. According to Amazon, you can buy this for $19.01 + $4.99 shipping although it’s normally $25.01. According to FabFitFun it should be $40.
• Tech Candy UV Sanitizer – $60, I couldn’t find this exact one but found similar products for up to $120+ such as these. Many seem to be sold out.
• Monroé Classique Watch in Sunburst Solérose – $105
• Milk Makeup Watermelon Brightening Face Mask & Mini Face Serum – $44
• Shoshanna Umbrella – $40
• Jenni Kayne Water Hyacinth Tray with Cutout Handles – $45
• Perricone MD Essential Fx Acyl-Glutathione Rejuvenating Moisturizer – $98 (currently on sale on Amazon for $87.50 – you can add it to your FabFitFun Spring Box for just $15!
• Short Stories LED Indoor Planter + True Leaf Market Italian Large Leaf Basil Seeds – $62.49, I couldn’t find this exact planter but similar ones cost up to $100.
• alice + olivia Daisy Print Duffel Bag – $150

Just like last time, I really like that there’s a good range of product with something for everyone. Also, I was excited to discover Jenni Kayne that has sustainable products!

Customize Step 2 of 5

The second step of FabFitFun Spring Box Customization is also full of great options! For once, I did not go for the fluffy option. I love my robes but my dogs would use the slippers as chew toys. Personally, I went for the Billion Dollar brushes because I’m trying to get into makeup and I’ve been meaning to buy some!

This is something that I absolutely love about FabFitFun… I can usually find something that I’ve actively been searching for in either their customization or add-on section!

This section also allows you to add any extras you want for just $15 per item!

Customize Step 3 of 5

The third step of FabFitFun Spring Box Customization is not too shabby either! This is where we get to generally cheaper products, which also means that adding extras only costs $10! Here I was tempted by the hair masque, but I ended up just getting the eye serum.

Customize Step 4 of 5

The fourth stage of customization has fewer items. You can add each item for just $7! Here I just had to have a makeup sorter for my growing makeup collection. But I also got the cleansing gel!

Customize Step 5 of 5

The final step of FabFitFun Spring Box Customization is unique because you can only pick one item and you can’t buy one of the others, no matter how much you beg. I picked the illuminating oil for that extra glow.

However, when I say final step in the customization, it’s not quite true. It is the final part of choosing free items that are part of your box, but you can still get some great add-ons for a discounted price later on! FabFitFun Spring Box Customization: What Next?

The rest of the steps offer awesome products at decreased prices and buying them is optional! You also don’t’ get charged for them until two days after customization closes. If you’re like me, this means you’ll go back every day to make little changes.

FabFitFun reFills

This step allows you to subscribe to a new subscription within a subscription! Yes, there is some subscripception going on here and it is quite exciting. ReFills allows you to choose your favorite product (if you want, you can opt out of this step) and receive it in your box every season. You can also cancel any time, which is great because these can add a hefty fee to your box – but it also saves you 75% on these select products!

• Grown Alchemist Matte Balancing Moisturizer – $25, oof this one also seems way cheaper than they claim it should be. They say it costs $69 and there are other Grown Alchemist products that cost that much. However, this one is available on Amazon for $25. Still, the FabFitFun subscription offers it for less at just $17 / per season.
• Perricone MD Face Finishing & Firming Moisturizer – $69, the reFill costs $30.60 / per season.
• dr.brandt skincare pores no more Pore Purifying Cleanser – $36, the reFill costs $9.90 / per season.
• Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser: Geranium Leaf, Bergamot, Rosebud – $28, currently on sale from $39. The reFill costs $12.60 / per season.
• BLAQ Dual Sided Wipes – $25. The reFill costs $6.30 / per season.
• Rodial Beauty Pink Diamond Cleansing Balm – $59. The reFill costs $21.60 / per season.
• KarynG Skincare Retinol Renewing Serum With Pro-Verte Complex – $95. The reFill costs $26.10 / per season and I couldn’t help sign up for this one!
• Grown Alchemist Brightening Serum: Phyto-Complex & Rumex Leaf Extract – $95. The reFill costs $21.60 / per season.
• dr.brandt skincare Speed Recovery Serum – $110. The reFill costs $30.60 / per season.
• Kate Somerville Kx Active Concentrates Squalane + Hyaluronic Serum – $98. $44.10 / per season.

Cancelling a reFill

Cancelling a reFill is possible but it isn’t as easy as it should be. There is no button to do it, you have to contact FabFitFun. Luckily, they have a wonderful customer support team. You can email them, but I chose to chat in real time. I was the 22nd in line but within two minutes I was connected to an actual human. Adam took care of everything and didn’t ask me why I was canceling and he didn’t try to convince me to keep it.

Now that I know how easy it is to cancel these reFills, I will no longer be nervous about signing up to try these new products!

Boost Your Box

Now THIS is the last FabFitFun Spring Box Customization with the exception of add-ons. Last time there was a beautiful diamond necklace that I regretted not getting. This time, the item that I have been searching for was offered at an incredible sale! I couldn’t resist adding the PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Pro!

Add-Ons: FabFitFun

There are a LOT of FabFitFun add-ons to consider buying! There are 300 or so cool products that you can add to your box. They really are all MAJORLY discounted. I don’t like being tricked into buying something just because it’s on sale.

So every product that went into my cart got Googled. All the original prices were exactly as listed on FabFitFun and most of the products had amazing reviews. I always check reviews on Amazon because those are legitimate.

I won’t get too into it this time, but trust me when I say that browsing these is worth your time and restraint!

Summary

I am so excited to get my Spring Box. FabFitFun is such a great company and I am dying to receive these products. I was already excited about the box itself, but the discounts offered on all these amazing products is incredible. As someone who sits around in PJs all day and forgets to wash her hair, I did not expect to be so excited about these lifestyle items. It turns out that the company is true to its name and as a subscriber, I am becoming fabber, fitter and funner 😉
