When I’m not writing blog posts on The Travel Bug Bite, I’m writing articles for iPhone Life. If you like Apple products, then I strongly recommend that you sign up for the Tip of the Day Newsletter! Anyway, during a recent article on Apple Watch complications, I discovered Streaks app. I assumed I would just download it to take some screenshots. Instead, I am finding myself three days closer to building some great habits.
I have tried everything to try and build some better habits. I have the Habit Nest – Morning Sidekick, which I love, but it hasn’t helped me reach all my habit goals. At one point, I tried bullet Journaling, but that was a flop. I also have various apps with their own streaks, but that just gets messy with different reminder notifications.
This is an older video so a few things have changed, but it’s still a great summary:
About Streaks App – Best Apple Watch Complication
I tend to get stingy about my software, which is weird since I’m happy to spend a lot of quality hardware. Streaks costs $5, and it’s worth it! Streaks is a to-do list that helps you form good habits. Every day you complete a task, your streak is extended.
You can have up to twelve tasks, and they can be ANYTHING. Examples include walk the dog, floss your teeth, eat healthily, practice Spanish, and you can write custom ones too! Throughout your day, you will get notifications to remind you to do them. The app works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, but I like to use it exclusively on my Apple Watch. It has a really cool complication too!
Why it Works
I nominate Streaks to be the best Apple Watch complication because it looks great but is also functional. The key to building habits is to do something every day. Having a visible streak can help you stay motivated. I know from personal experience that if I see a big number that I am proud of, I will not let laziness stop me from breaking a streak.
My favorite thing about Streaks is that you can write your own tasks. Recently I’ve read a lot about microhabits, this can be flossing just one tooth or doing two pushups every time you pee. Streaks lets you incorporate tasks like this alongside bigger and vaguer goals. Although there are apps to track almost anything, I really like that Streaks keeps it all in one place and allows you to track things that apps don’t exist for, like uploading a listing to Etsy.
Summary: Best Apple Watch Complication
Have I convinced you yet that Streaks is the best Apple Watch complication? Download the app today and try it out for yourself. And if you want to learn more about Apple products, you should really check out iPhone Life. I may be biased, but it really is a great resource that teaches me something new about the devices that I have and love every day!
