10 Freebies You Can Get On Your Birthday

Getting freebies is always fun, especially on your birthday! It’s my birthday today, which you may not care too much about, but there are businesses that do. It turns out that lots of places will actually reward you for being born. There are hundreds of companies that will give you freebies on this special day. Let me tell you about the 10 that I’m the most excited about – with links towards the end to more thorough lists.

1. Coffee

I love to start the day off with some good coffee. On my birthday I tend to double fist hot, fresh coffee in one hand and an ice-cold mimosa in the other. My day is starting late so I haven’t tested this out for myself yet, but I will be needing more coffee later so I will head over to Dunkin’ Donuts. Or is it just Dunkin’ now? Anyway, supposedly they will give me free coffee today and I am shameless enough to ask for it! If you are a Starbucks Rewards member, they will give you a free drink too!

2. Ice Cream

Nothing goes better with coffee than ice cream! The word ‘free’ is questionable as the following three places only give freebies to their members. But hey, it kind of counts since many such memberships are free! The Scoop members get a free scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Mug Members get a free root beer float at A&W. PinkCard members get a free frozen yogurt (okay seriously, this is still ice cream) at Pinkberry. Finally, you can get also get a fee ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s!

3. Free Pizookie®

Okay, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what a Pizookie is. It may be a pizza, dessert or a beverage. What I do know is that BJ’s will give you a free one on your birthday if you sign up to be a member. Also, whatever a Pizookie is, I love everything about the word and I’m sure it tastes great too.

4. Makeup

Finally something that isn’t edible. Or at least, shouldn’t be eaten. Sephora apparently gives you free makeup if you sign up to be a member! Members of the BareMinerals Friends and Benefits program get a free birthday gift that changes annually. Past gifts have included eyeshadow and lipstick.

5. Pancakes

IHOP gives free pancakes to members on their birthday! The catch is, they give you the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Pancakes. If you’re into the more classical variety like me, these may not sound too appealing to you. But hey, they are free so why not give them a try?

6. Donut

Krispy Kreme is known for their delicious donuts! They are also known for their generosity – they give you a free donut on your birthday. Yum! They also have other perks and freebies, such as a free donut on National Donut Day. See? There’s a reason to keep up with these national days.

7. Guac & Chips

Do you like eating guacamole? And chips? I love some chips with my extra garlicky guac and I know many others that do too. Downloading the Chipotle app will give you various rewards including free guacamole and chips on your birthday!

8. Cinnamon Bun

I am not a huge dessert person, with the exception of ice cream. However, I could eat cinnamon buns all day every day until I look like one. If you sign up for membership, you can get a free cinnamon bun at Cinnabon! I’m out of luck because the closest one is in Connecticut and I’m not doing any cross-state travel during COVID, so I’ll need one of you to taste one for me!

9. Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock is another place that gives freebees for your birthday! Technically you need to be a member, but I have received free things on my birthday without showing my membership or an ID. The membership is quite worth it though so I recommend signing up for the perks!

10. Dessert

TGI Friday’s is another great place I like to go when I’m cheating on my diet. They offer free desserts on your birthday, but you can get it anytime during your birthday month! It can be after the date or earlier, whenever it is the most convenient. I haven’t done this for years but I am pretty sure I scored their delicious Oreo Madness at one point back when I lived in Prague, CZ.

Summary

Your birthday is a great time to forget about counting calories and fill up on free food! Keep in mind that singing up for all these memberships may be free but they will email, text and annoy you forever. I bet some of them even sell your email to others who will proceed to spam you until the opposite of your birthday happens. Either way, enjoy these free things on your special day! I know I will.
