Bristol Harbor Inn, Rhode Island: Harbor View Room, Hotel Experince

I stayed in Bristol Harbor Inn in Rhode Island for just one night. After a year of no travel and moving and noisy house construction, I badly needed a break from reality. Luckily, for just $100, I got to enjoy a peaceful 24 hours looking at the Bristol harbor from my cozy hotel room! I could not have asked for a better or more fairly-priced ocean view room in the entire state. It took a lot of research to find this place and now I know where to go the next time I need a mini-vacation.

About Bristol Harbor Inn

Nestled against the tranquil waters of Bristol Harbor, in the heart of historic downtown Bristol, our contemporary hotel blends coastal charm with boutique elegance. With nautical-themed décor and luxurious bedding, our 52 guestrooms and suites reflect the area’s maritime legacy. Many of our spacious guest rooms also offer wonderful views of Bristol Harbor and Narragansett Bay.

Sample fresh seafood by dining in the adjacent tavern or sip a sunset cocktail on the water. For a truly special occasion, host a wedding reception on our waterfront deck or plan a pleasurable business meeting in our fully-equipped boardroom.

My experience there was great. The staff was incredibly accommodating and let me check in early as well as check out late without a fee. Plus, they gave me the best room in the hotel just because I asked. Sure it helped that I was one of the only guests, but I still appreciated their willingness to make my stay there perfect.

Bristol and Nearby Spots?

Bristol Harbor Inn is located 14 miles from Newport Rhode Island. Guests can cross Mt. Hope Bridge and travel along RI-114 to Newport by car, with the trip taking just a little more than 35 minutes. Bristol is a charming town with a lot of unique things to see and do, including checking out the scenery at Colt State Park or the Blithewold Mansion Gardens and Arboretum, browsing the shops on Hope Street, or taking the Prudence Island Ferry.

Rhode Island is not actually an island, as a majority of its border sits along the US mainland. Its official name is the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.  Rhode Island is famous for a lot of interesting food, including coffee milk which is a local favorite, along with locally-sourced oysters, Quahog, clam cakes, clam chowder, calamari, and Del’s lemonade.

The spring and autumn seasons offer mild temperatures and few rain showers, meaning you will be able to take in the beautiful natural scenery throughout the state and its local parks.

Summary: Bristol Harbor Inn

While I loved my stay at Bristol Harbor Inn, it’s hard to give a proper review just because this was not a regular hotel stay. I picked the hotel based on a good price and ocean view. During my stay I brought food and drink so that I wouldn’t have to leave due to the pandemic. It was great for a staycation. However, it would be a completely different experience if I was traveling during non-pandemic times. I hope to go back and explore the amenities in the future!
