What does MUD\WTR taste like?

There are different ways to prepare MUD\WTR that effect the flavor. It is recommended to stir one tablespoon of the powder into three tablespoons of hot water. Then you can add a cup of steamed oat milk (or the milk of your preference) with a tablespoon of coconut oil and a teaspoon of honey or agave. Of course, you can also drink it black with a tablespoon of powder in eight ounces of water. Just like everyone likes their coffee a little different, there are many ways to drink MUD\WTR.

MUD\WTR doesn’t taste like mud, but it doesn’t taste like your regular coffee either. It only has about 14mg of caffeine per cup vs 95mg in the average cup of coffee. On it’s own, MUD\WTR is filled with spices and there are many unique layers of flavors. You can’t really taste any mushrooms but it is definitely earthy when you drink it black. It isn’t as bitter as you’d expect the mix of flavors to taste. If you don’t use a mesh strainer, you may end up with some powder remnants at the bottom of your cup. If you add all the extras like milk, sweetener, etc. you can make MUD\WTR taste exactly like a latte.

My MUD\WTR Preference

Personally, I only add some almond milk and to me it tastes like a not too sweet hot chocolate. It is my second day drinking it and I love it. I might try it black soon because I prefer to skip all the calories from milk, but it reminds me of the chocolate mint masala I used to enjoy at my favorite tea house in Prague, Czech Republic. I can 100% see myself drinking mud instead of coffee on a regular basis. Since I’m a picky coffee drinker, I find myself getting frustrated with sub par coffee. But MUD\WTR always tastes good!

What does MUD\WTR feel like?

Taste is important, but people aren’t throwing trading in their coffees for MUD\WTR because of flavor. While it takes a few days to grow accustomed to switching up your coffee for MUD\WTR, you can feel the changes right away. Your regular averagely caffeinated coffee will stimulate your nervous system. When it reaches your brain, the most noticeable effect is alertness. You’ll feel more awake and less tired, so it’s a common ingredient in medications to treat or manage drowsiness, headaches, and migraines. It also stimulates your intestines and many people, including myself, will have the urge to use the bathroom immediately after drinking or even smelling coffee.
