One of the more stressful aspects of moving to a new country is healthcare. Back home, I was able to call my gynecologist and have her mail me a prescription for three months of birth control pills. I was nervous that it would take longer and cost more in the USA. Since it took me a while to get health insurance, I looked for a more affordable way to get the pill. That’s when I discovered the Pill Club.
I actually first heard about the Pill Club through a Facebook ad. They said you can just apply online and get your pills delivered without going through a doctor. It seemed too good to be true. Especially in a country where you need to see a doctor just to get an eye-contact prescription. But I was determined to try it out for myself.
How it Works
The Pill Club is meant for people who are already on the pill and know what they need. If you have any issues or questions, they do claim to pass those on to a gynecologist. Since the pill I normally take isn’t available here, I had to ask for their suggestion. They were great at getting back to me with answers and various options.
Several back-and-forth texts happened over the course of three days. That was all it took to purchase a year’s supply of pills for around $150 without health insurance. They arrived within 10 business days with a complimentary condom, vaginal wipes, stickers and instructions for use. I was more than pleasantly surprised with their service, speed and cost. It was also amazing not to have to worry about running out for an entire year.
The Pill Club offers a lot of information on their website about their services and different types of safe sex practices. They are a legit company and they work with health insurance companies. This can make your prescription free depending on your plan. Finally, everything can be arranged online and via text for convenience.
