Living in Oakland Beach, we’ve seen PB & J’s Restaurant on our commute. It looked like a cute place, but it was their new outdoor seating that finally convinced us to visit. We came in the late afternoon for some breakfast food but ended up getting cocktails and enjoying their seafood special. Everything was delicious, reasonably priced, and the owner was so kind!

About PB & J’s Restaurant

From the outside, PB & J’s Restaurant doesn’t look like anything too fancy. But they will surprise you with their extensive menu and a fully-stocked bar. They are happy to make custom drinks too, my Cuba Libre cost $7.50, and it was definitely more rum than coke, which was great! Although they don’t have draft beers, they do have an excellent canned selection. They also seem a prime rib special for Saturday dinners! Find their full menu on their website.

The hospitality was also a huge part of what made us love PB & J’s so much. Their slogan, “Where friends become family,” is no joke. When they say, “at PB & J’s, it’s our family taking care of your family. Today and always.”

Another amazing thing about PB & J’s is that they use reusable plastic plates and cups as well as stainless steel cutlery. We’ve noticed that many diners and even regular restaurants have been using single-use plates, especially during COVID. Since we like to protect the environment, we really appreciate their effort to take the time to wash these rather than opting for the single-use alternative.

“Sister and Brother team Patti and Billy have been in the restaurant business for most of their lives and had a dream to open their own restaurant. Their dream came true with the opening of PB & J’s in September 2019.  They are grateful to the previous owners for their kindness and to all of the staff that stayed to help them succeed.”

PB & J’s Restaurant Summary

We loved our visit to PB & J’s, and our only complaint is that they didn’t lure us in earlier! We’re also mad at ourselves for coming full and only having room for appetizers. It won’t be long until we’re back for more deliciousness and cocktails! Even though the outdoor seating doesn’t offer a particularly romantic look, it has a great vibe and is within walking distance from Oakland Beach.
